6 Reasons Why You Should Get A Labradoodle

If you’re considering getting a new dog, think about adding a Labradoodle to your home. These are big dogs with big personality and a fluffy coat. In recent years, Labradoodles have become increasingly popular for a variety of reasons. If you’re thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, here are a few reasons why you should get a Labradoodle.

You need an exercise partner.

Labradoodles are energetic animals that need plenty of exercise. This breed is happiest when it can go on a couple walks a day and play with its owner in between. One of these walks must be substantial enough to burn this breed’s endless energy—a trip around the block won’t be enough. This is a good breed for owners who already spend a lot of time exercising outside, or those looking to stick to a dedicated exercise routine. In addition to walks, this breed does well in a home with a backyard so it can play fetch. A Labradoodle won’t love being inside and alone all day, so they fit in best in a home where there’s someone eager to give them the attention they need.

You want a dog, but you have minor allergies.

While no dog breed is technically 100% hypoallergenic, these dogs come pretty close. Because of their Poodle lineage, this breed seems to have less of an allergenic trigger in people than other breeds do. This means that there’s a good chance you won’t be sneezing and wheezing around this pooch. Another good thing about this kind of coat is that it sheds less than a straight haired dog. While you might be able to see a few hairs on the couch or your clothes, you won’t have to sweep your floor on a daily basis to deal with the shedding. If you have dog allergies, it’s best to meet the Labradoodle before you bring it home, just to make sure it doesn’t make you feel sick, as some dogs make people sneeze more than others.

You want a new best friend.

There’s a reason why Labradoodles are often used as comfort companions. This dog has an upbeat personality and is super sweet. They are somewhat sensitive, so they’re able to pick up on human emotions and body language cues. If you’re feeling sad, this is the kind of dog that will cuddle up beside you. They will greet you at the door at the end of a long day with a wagging tail, begging you to play a game of fetch with them.  This dog can be calm at times, but will also keep you active and moving. With a Labradoodle, you’ll always have a companion that is game to go on a walk or spend some time at the park. They are friendly around both people and other dogs, and are generally good with children.
