5 Questions to Ask Before Purchasing a Labradoodle

A Labradoodle can be a wonderful addition to any family. They’re loyal and lovable companions. Labradoodles have personalities all their own, but they generally have favorable traits from both of their parent breeds – the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle.

This doesn’t mean you should just rush out and buy the first Labradoodle you find. Buying any pet is a big commitment. Buying a Labradoodle presents additional unique challenges. Before you bring a Labradoodle home, you need to be prepared.

Here are five questions you need to ask before purchasing a Labradoodle.

  1. Am I Ready to Create a Forever Home?

A Labradoodle should be part of your family for life. Once you adopt a Labradoodle, re-homing the dog later is very unfair and upsetting to the animal. Before you bring home a pet, make sure you’re ready for a long-term commitment.

Do you plan on moving anytime soon? Having a child? Buying other pets? All of these things can be done with a Labradoodle. You just want to be prepared to help your Labradoodle handle any of these changes. Generally speaking, adopting a puppy should be done at a time when you don’t anticipate any major life events.
